In 1988 Angeline and Robbin Lacy created the “Adventure blanket” to take on family outings - a colorful, comfortable, waterproof layer to keep their young family off the damp ground in Oregon. Blanket scraps got used for making colorful hats, which soon eclipsed blanket sales. After a lot of customer input and continuous product refinements, the couple came up with the Adventure hat in 1996. With a wide folding brim, long neck cape, ventilated crown, and adjustable sizing the design formed the basis for many of their hats today.
