Pacsafe
Two intrepid Australians, Rob Schlipper and Magnus McGlashen, were inspired to create a more secure backpack after thieves ransacked Rob’s bag during the Tiananmen Square revolt. Their first product was a flexible stainless steel mesh cage like chicken wire that enclosed a backpack and secured it to a fixed object. Their next idea was a real breakthrough - sandwich the stainless steel mesh between layers of fabric to make shoulder bags, purses, and luggage slash-proof. Further anti-theft enhancements include cut-proof steel cables in the shoulder straps, locking zipper pulls, and RFID blocking fabric.
